Torsten Gessner, Vice President of European Operations
Torsten Gessner joined America II in April of 2008 bringing over 20 years of extensive experience in international high-tech sales, marketing, revenue management and sales operations in the electronics industry.
From 1984 until 1998 Mr. Gessner gained experience in sales and management roles in franchised electronics distribution and various manufacturing representative companies in the Southeastern United States.
During the years 1998 to 2006, Mr. Gessner progressed through international sales and management positions to hold senior leadership roles at Philips Electronics, Semiconductor Division; including a 4-year expatriate assignment in Europe. Since 2006, he was part of major business unit management team of NXP Semiconductors, based in Boston MA.
Mr. Gessner’s international educational diversity includes diplomas from Germany and the U.S., and studies in Electrical Engineering and Physics at the University of Alabama, Huntsville. While in Europe he attended numerous high-tech specific, executive programs and holds a Semiconductor mini-MBA certificate from Philips & Ashridge Business School in the UK. Most recently he earned his Executive Management Certificate for Technology Leadership & Strategy at Massachusetts Institute of Technology- Sloan School of Business; Cambridge Mass.
