Andy Groom, Managing Director
With close to 30 years of experience in the electronics industry, Andy Groom's career covers sales, sales management, and product management with a specialization in semiconductors. In 1982, Mr. Groom accepted an invitation to establish the third company of the Access Group, a high-tech design distributor. In the late 80s, the Access Group gained visibility as the second largest semiconductor group in the UK and the target of Avnet's first European acquisition in 1991. Within Avnet UK, Mr. Groom filled several roles, including Marketing Director and General Manager, overseeing all of Avnet UK's semiconductor and passive operations. As Managing Director of America II Europe, Groom works to bring the benefits of America II Electronics' independent distribution model not only to the UK facility he oversees but to the pan-European electronics community by overseeing all of America II's European operations.
